I decided to pick up some lunch today. I ordered online (since they don’t take phone orders), and paid a slightly higher price to do so… but whatever.

I drove over and got there about 10 minutes earlier than the estimated “order ready” time I was given. Which is great… but when I walked in, I was greeted by this beautiful young lady, with black wavy hair, and a gorgeous smile— and I wished my order wasn’t ready so I could’ve had a reason to stay and talk to her a little bit.

So I’ll be back lol — the food is good, but that’s not what won me over .

Somebody tell me whether or not she’s single before I come back and embarrass myself lol

  Hands down one of the best breakfast spots in LA but today I want to focus on the service. Let’s face it, there are several places in LA that have consistently good food but it’s been my experience that the service on the other hand can be hit or miss. Not the case at the serving Spoon. Absolutely everyone from the time you walk in the door are professional, friendly and so welcoming. There’s nothing the staff won’t do to ensure your time dining with them is wonderful experience

  The Serving Spoon’s service is a perfect 10/10. Every staff member who clocked in greeted everyone with a smile, which made for such a pleasant start to my Saturday morning. I’d return just for the incredible service alone!

  If ever in the area this breakfast place is a must. The buttermilk biscuits are worth the trip alone. Make sure you try the catfish as well. Out standing food and service.

  I know coming here for brunch on a Saturday would be a bit of a wait but I opted to take a Lyft and do it anyways since I saw the reviews were generally pretty good. I checked in and signed in for a group of 2 and was told it was going to be 25 minutes or so. Not bad so I sat on the bench and waited. Somehow our name on the Yelp guest list didn’t show up on their tablets so they missed us , it wasn’t noted until close to 35 minutes or so of waiting but they were able to get us seated by then and apologized about that. Now for the food, there’s was a bit of options on the menu, I wanted their waffle breakfast with sides of potatoes, and choice of protein which I chose bacon. The whole place was packed and you know it’s a good spot when there’s a ton of regular locals frequenting it. The waffle was light and not too sweet with their syrup, the potatoes were fantastically flavored and seasoned. The bacon was crispy and not burnt and had good thickness to it. I cleared my whole plate and was glad I tried it out

  Excellent Breakfast. My first time. I seen it many many times, but the lines out the door. Today was my day. Everything was Everything. Over 40 years in business and still going strong.

  10/10 meal. The big spoon meal was the best choice I could’ve made. I had a bit of savory and sweet, it was delicious. The French toast was made perfectly and the warm syrup really made a difference!

  Stupid Fire, You will definitely love this place!! Turkey chops where on point as well as the cornbread

  Friendly service. Great food. Old school vibe. And TOASTED CORN BREAD!!! Nuff said!!!!

  Very friendly staff and the owner walked around introducing her little son to everyone. Very much a family place.
French toast was okay, and the mimosa.
My guy got pork chops, pinto beans, and collard greens. Lots of food! He ended up taking one pork chop home.
They close at 2:00!!

  I’m from out of town and my brother suggested we go to the Serving Spoon for breakfast. Let me say this: super friendly, super good service and the food was fantastic. It was as good a restaurant experience I have had anywhere at any price range. Can’t wait to visit my brother and go back. It will be the first place I go eat at. Thank you Serving Spoon.

  Was looking for a place to have breakfast while in town for Business. Found this little gem. The environment is really cool. I’m a young men, but this is what most of the elders would call, a blast from the past. Is like the diners you see in the movies when you were a kid. Everyone has a smile on their face. Fast and prompt service, great food and everyone takes care of you, not just your server. I will definitely come back to this one when in town.

  After a hard loss to the Rams verses my 49ers. I came over to get some soul breakfast that ease the pain from the loss. A must try again.
