Back in 1983, a young dreamer from Hamilton, Ohio - Harold E. Sparks - traded in his steady job at General Motors for something far juicier: his own soul food restaurant in sunny Inglewood, California. His vision? To serve up love at first bite and create a space where everyone feels like family. And just like that, The Serving Spoon was born - a place where comfort food meets community spirit.
Fast-forward four delicious decades later, and Harold's legacy is still going strong! His daughter and son-in-law picked up the spoon (and the recipes) in 2004, keeping the flavor and family vibes alive. Today, the next generation of Harold's grandkids has stepped in to stir the pot and keep the soul in every serving.
